Okeekarma Kennels is situated at Rye on Melbourne's Mornington Penninsula.
I, Victoria, live there with my husband Thomas and our five children.
We currently have Harry (Elequance Harrington) as my new show and foundation dog. I am really looking forward to campaigning him and I am sure we will have lots of fun.
History of Okeekarma
I first started showing with Belgian Shepherds. I had been involved with this breed for about 2 years and had been showing them for the past year or so. Due to the demand of running around the showring to make these beautiful dogs look spectacular I just couldn't maintain it. Then started my quest for a smaller dog that I could show and eventually breed with down the track.
After a lot of consideration and talking with different breeders of different breeds I decided that an Italian Greyhound would fit perfectly.
We use to own a rescue greyhound that was the most placid dog I have ever met, so it was only fitting to choose the smaller version, the Italian Greyhound.
Enter Elequance Harrington, 'Harry'. I would like to thank Yvonne from Elequance for letting me own and show this gorgeous boy. He has certainly already exceeded my expections.
My dogs are my life.
